Now, here's the beauty of it: I've searched up Windows Live Messenger everywhere and it brings me back to the same page, http://get.live.com/messenger/overview, with the option to download, but when I click on the download button it just goes to the "page cannot be displayed" page and this is really and truly starting to piss me off. Anybody know if their server might be down, or that perhaps it might, heaven forbid, actually have something to do with Vista?

It got nothing to do with Vista. Windows Live Messenger is compatible with Vista. The websites might be down for maintenance purposes or are upgrading. Another website that you can try searching for is www.download.com but if their server is down then i don't think that you will be abe to download from that sites either because they would still lead you back to window live messenger sites to download the file.
Get a friend or someone to send you the setup file would be the best option now.

hello. follow this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai... , i know looks strange, this is the microsoft link for free download, to download live mess. 1more thing..........go to start, all programs, windows live messanger download........it's a default link from vista to the site for downloading the mess. the link you gave, works here. i'm in dublin, ireland so for sure there's a problem with you provider. good luck
go to: http://get.live.com/messenger then click the Get It Free orange icon.. a box should prompt and click Run. If it continues, at the top of your page (below web page tab), if theres a like a warning or note, right click it and select the "allow" or "install" options.. hope this helps..
