You know what's stupid about Windows Live Messenger?

When you are signed in and you have the Windows Live Messenger Music Plug-In enabled in Windows Media Player, if you appear offline and you are listening to music, people would know you are online because they can see that you are listening to music! Pretty stupid, that ain't stealth, you know? Why couldn't they disable the plug-in altogether along with appearing offline, right?

yes it annoys me alot because even though they can doit they are so lazy they havent i had a girlfriend last year she loved chatting but i didnt in that time well i really loved her but she broke with me because i did many stupid things and besides i always put appear offline to everyone and she discovered i was online and broke with me i did this several time it was an inmature releationship.

It could also mean that, you left the music player on, but are still away somewhere (so status has been set to offline).
when you are offline before you listen to music, click on the arrow on the bar of your personal message and turn off "show what i am listening to"

iSight will defifinitley work as a web cam, although I gather there are some compatibility issues with Messenger for Mac. I am not sure if MS is still developing it.

A) Is the program shutting down, or is it disconnecting /logging you out?

If it's shutting down, then there's a page fault somewhere.

If you'd like, you can try reinstalling over it and seeing if that helps. If not it may most likely be assauged by doing a proper uninstall and reinstall.

You can 'extract' and save your message history if you wish to.

B) Consider using Trillian Basic 3.0 (3.1 is optional update you can 'cancel/skip' when using 3.0

i have also just found out that microsoft has withdrawn live messenger version 9 for some reason.

it could possibly still be in its beta stage or some software bugs may have been found, that patches have not been developed for yet.

my advice is too keep looking on the microsoft website and other places that people use with more detailed information like computer forums or technical help blogs.

I've been using MSN Explorer since it came out, and I never had a problem. I just installed a new hard drive and the OS is XP Professional. Previously, I found some spyware in my computers. So, I cleaned them. Now, when I sign-in my windows messenger 8.1, they say a error has occured and Messenger needs to close. I restarted the computer, uninstalled and installed etc, but it's no use. Can anyone tell me what had happened? What should I do ?

Maybe it is virus/adware infected. So first install a good antivirus guard and an antispyware software.Run a full scan. If it doesnt work you will have to format the computer, maybe!
check whether your firewall has blocked the messenger.
If i was you i would just uninstall and then reinstall. Seems like the easiest solution.
I suggest you

- delete the program and reboot the computer

- delete all cookies, temp files and temporary internet files

- update your antivirus program and run another scan

- if no infections show up, then reinstall the program.

It is very important to reboot anytime you uninstall a program with the intent to reinstall it.

what that popup is trying to say is that a WLM user has put through a request to add you to their friends list... quite normal as one would just accept or decline the invitation... but there's currently a problem... to accept or decline you need to be part of the partner program, the one in the system notice you mentioned... BUT the yahoo page no longer exists...

Yahoo users who had previously joined the program still have access to and can add WLM users, the option to add them is available from the drop down menu (Yahoo, WLM, LCS) but if you hadn't signed up prior you will only have Yahoo and LCS.

It might be a bug in the program or some other software is causing problems with messenger.

Try installing an older version of msn messenger and see if it works.

If you are still having problems you will need to clean your computer using an anti-virus scanner, malware scanner, registry cleaner, etc.

If all else fails----%26gt; back up all your data (music, documents, etc) and format your computer.

you can't really save them anywhere or anything and you can't transfer them from the same computer

and you can't sign in in 2 computers and send them to the other computer coz when you open it in your computer you won't have the emoticons the emoticons are saved in your computer but when you sign in from a different computer they won't be saved in your msn you can add new ones but they won't be saved in your other computer

you can ask a friend and send her the emoticons and she can send them to you on the other account that could work but nothing else works

yes you would open it up going to preferences and adding them back by removing the block. so look for privacy or whatever tab then click there name and the arrow to move them to your contact list should highlight, so then you just click the arrow to move em back over.

It's a glitch. Maybe this could reduce the problem from happening so much; go to control panel...add/remove programs...and go to windows live messenger. Highlight it ( click it of course ) and click on " click here for support information" and then after when you click it, there should be a button that says repair..click the repair button. Now, like i said this may reduce the problem because i still get those " message could not be delivered to the recipient message" but it doesnt happen all the time for me. If that doesn't work, you may just need to start talking to them on yahoo messenger until that glitch has been resolved.

I think it's just a link to one of those sites where you input your name and it gives you what your "porn star name" would be.
That would be done by her, its settings that she would have in her messenger program on her computer.

Some times this happens when there's a problem with one of the servers, it should come back. Keep signing in/out and it should appear again. Failing that, you can email MSN regarding your problem and they are excellent in coming back and giving advice in sorting it out.

U didnt tell us what that pop up window is of. Is it an advert or the messenger's window.

If it is an advertisement then it means that ur pc is infected with spyware/virus which is a different story.

If the window is of windows live messenger then uninstall it this way: -

1) Restart ur pc in safe mode . This tells u how to : -

3) Go to control panel -add remove and then remove it from there.

I am sure that this method should definately work.

Secondly, if u plan to still keep it and wanna just remove it from the startup then click on start- run - msconfig

then under startup, uncheck windows live messenger (or some thing like that).

Uninstalling Windows Live won't interfere with other microsoft programs, ive done it before. If u dont want it to start automatticly wen u boot up: sign in , go to tools, then options, then go to general, then go to Automatticly run WLM when I log into windows. It appears that your version of WLM is not using the same fontset that your friends are using. Try downloading other fontsets from Microsoft.

Another program must be conflicting with messenger. So think about what have you d/l or installed lately? Also ther may be progams on the system tray (right hand task bar) that are starting up with your computer they also do behind he scenes things to interfere. It is tough. You could try this.

You could try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:

systems tools

system restore

This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.

Did you install a new internet browser? If yes, reinstall that one. If not, reinstall the one you're using. Manuals how to do that:

However, it is not actually open. I have deleted all traces of Windows Live Messenger. It is not under the startup menu and there are no traces of it in the registry. Even under Program Files, there is nothing about MSN. Also, the program itself is not installed. Everytime that I start up the computer, I am bombarded with www.partypoker.com pop-ups, even though I have set the pop-up blocker to the highest level. The only way that I can stop the pop-ups is to open task manager and then End Task. Do you know what my problem is? I use Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7.

Windows media player does shuffle the order of your music in the now playing list when you click on the shuffle button near the play button at the bottom. Have a look at this link... http://windows.about.com/od/mediaenterta...

The playlist will not look at though it has been shuffled as the order doesn't change but the playing song will jump between items on the list.

One of my favorite features of Windows Live Messenger is Music Mix. If you're a veteran MessengerSays blog reader, you might remember Leah posting about this in January 2006. This feature is so cool, it worth another mention for users who haven't discovered it yet!

Music Mix allows you to listen to music with your friends via a shared playlist. Each person can:

add/remove music to the playlist

re-order songs in the playlist

play, pause, start or stop the music

Music is played simultaneously on each computer. It's very cool!

If you haven't tried it yet, here's how:

Use the "Activities" button from the conversation window. You'll see a drop down of activities. Select "Music Mix". This will send an invite to your buddy.

When your buddy accepts, Music Mix will begin to load.

Once loaded, you can add music by clicking the "add music" button.

Select the MP3, WMA, or WAV from your hard drive. When you click "open" the song will start to load on your friend's machine. Once loaded, you can both play the song.

Your friend can also add songs to the playlist. You will see their song loading, like below.

Remember 鈥?you鈥檙e sharing a play list. If you fastforward, skip, or stop a song, your buddy will hear the same thing you do.

Songs are not actually transferred to your buddy, only a compressed version is temporarily cached on their computer while you mix.

Playlist file formats are wma, mp3, %26amp; wav

Music Mix holds up to 25 songs at a time, each a max of 20MB in size. You must delete songs to add more

Album art info is shown at the top of the activity window only in the US, but obscure songs can sometimes show the wrong album art.

The Search button only shows up for songs added by your buddy, clicking it will take you to an MSN Music search for your song

The persons who are appearing off-line on your daughter's login may have chosen to ignore her from their preferences in Windows Live Messenger. You can contact them and confirm if that is the case.

I don't think there is any way to re-add him without sending the invitation, but if he is a friend, just explained that you didn't mean to delete him. He certainly should understand and not get upset about it.

First, bad idea to ever publish your email address. Second, if the program is not working correctly, go to Start, (settings) control panel, add remove programs, and dump the software.

Then visit yahoo and reload. Be Aware that Beta means (Test).

Once you added the address to your windows live messenger or Yahoo beta new version, you will have to log off and re-log in in order it to work...

On the last version - MSN Messenger - when you wanted a picture on your message when you added one it would put it at the bottom of your list, but now with Windows Live it just scrambles the pictures and you have to go hunting for the ones you just added to make it your display picture. I've looked through all the options but can't find a way to make it order then by newest added.

The "big" emoticons must be animated in GIF format.

If you want to use a still image, you can try the dot trick. First you make two frames of the image (basically two GIF images), then on one of them, you put a little dot (you can do this from the pencil tool in Paint) that's a slightly different shade than what its replacing. Then put the two GIF's in a program that can create one whole animated GIF. You can use UnFREEz 2.1 (free), Microsoft GIF Animator (free), and Adobe Imageready (you get this from buying Photoshop).

Then on MSN you will have the illusion that the image is not animated, since the dot is too small for MSN to display. Or you can make it so the frames change only once.

Do you save you messages ? If so you open messenger and sign in. Click tools, then options, then the click messages tab. Now there should be a part that says message history. It should say something about where you keep you messages. Me it says "C:\Documents and Settings\MSN" If thats what it say you would open documents and settings then click on the MSN file. If it doesn't say that you follow what it says by clickng the file that comes up first after "C:\" then keep clicking what comes next after the back slashes.. When you find the file clik on the contacts e-mail that you want to print out and hit print!

You should have a My Received Files folder in your My Documents folder. Go to the folder in My Received Files with your name and open the file inside. That should bring up you history on internet explorer. You should then be able to click on print.
