How do i get rid of windows live messenger?uninstall internet explorer

Hi,

U didnt tell us what that pop up window is of. Is it an advert or the messenger's window.

If it is an advertisement then it means that ur pc is infected with spyware/virus which is a different story.

If the window is of windows live messenger then uninstall it this way: -

1) Restart ur pc in safe mode . This tells u how to : -

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222

2) Login to the admin account.

3) Go to control panel -add remove and then remove it from there.

I am sure that this method should definately work.

Secondly, if u plan to still keep it and wanna just remove it from the startup then click on start- run - msconfig

then under startup, uncheck windows live messenger (or some thing like that).

Comment back if u need further help.

Use msconfig and see if you can disable the program.
I also put it away with instruction from link at bottom.

On XP and other NT based Windows You must be ADMIN:

Then You can:

1) Click on Start then Control Panel then Add or Remove Programs.

2) Select Add/Remove Windows Components.

3) Uncheck Windows Messenger.

4) Click Next.

5) Click Finish.

6) Restart Your computer.

It can delay Outlook express start; Workaround use another mail client else Info at:
Uninstalling Windows Live won't interfere with other microsoft programs, ive done it before. If u dont want it to start automatticly wen u boot up: sign in , go to tools, then options, then go to general, then go to Automatticly run WLM when I log into windows. Click on it so it'z uncheckd, den clik on apply, then ok.

Hope it works
