hi ppl i want 2 install windows live messenger 8.5 but wen i run the installer it takes me on2 an msn page and the installer does nothin som1 plz tell me y this has happened and a way 2 install it (no spam or answers sayin that happened 2 me 2 just so u can get points 4 doin nothin)

Microsoft has embedded spyware into all of there latest software, my best advice would be to just get Pidgin.

It's free and you can use pretty must any messenger with it(Yahoo, MSN, Google, AIM)

i think it's got something to do with active x control, try setting a different default browser
