I am using Yahoo! Messenger to talk to my friends. Many of them are using Windows Live Messenger. I have added them to my contact list and I can see their status fine - however, they cannot see mine (I appear offline) until I message them. Can I fix this at all?

Windows Live Mail uses MSN , not Yahoo Messenger. Windows Live is in with Hotmail, which has MSN. That might be the reason.
